Surrender

Surrender

A Poem by Star Cross
"

....

"

The world is at fault,

It caused me to become like this.

I don't know who I am anymore,

To a point where my mind has driven me insane

With questions of doubt.

I want to drown where there is no water,

To breathe the spoiled air

And purify it with my own hands.

If I capture a hundred planes,

Will my wish come true?

Does it mean I'm lost,

If the 'X' has marked the spot of my redemption?

I have been digging for years,

And all I have found was pieces of my future.

A broken and empty dream.

It's only a matter of time before I surrender.

Honestly, I have a small idea about what this poem is about, but it really came from the bottom of my heart and how I have been feeling for the last couple of years. Critics and opinions are welcomed.

'I want to drown where there is no water" - I think I like this line best of everything I've seen of yours. It really calls up the irony of despair. This really is a fine poem!
