Cuts and Scars

Cuts and Scars

A Poem by Alison Snape
"

Written for the 'Why do you cut?' challenge.

"
You're too fat,
Too ugly,
Too stupid,
Not as good as her.

They don't need you,
They don't want you,
You mean nothing to them or anyone.

In a world as big as this why do you exist?

You don't deserve to feel happiness, love or joy,
Let the sorrow enter you,
Consume you,
Become you, as you cut.

Why would anyone care if you bleed or not?
They don't care enough to ask about the scars,
They don't care enough to ask why you're crying,
The don't care enough to want you.

When you cut you have power,
You can make yourself bleed,
Make yourself hurt.

Then you are left with the scars, proving that no one wants you,
Needs you,
Or could ever save you from yourself.
