The Day's Discovery

The Day's Discovery

A Poem by Allen Smuckler

I changed the title and the order..but essentially the poem remains the same... photo: Bonita Springs, Fla, winter of 2010

Love’s presence

fades
like twilight
falling.
Darkness and
dread become
my companion,
as fear
turns to fright
and all within me
near withers.
The circle of life
and living,
brings about
the promise,
and hope
of a new
inspirational day.
And I smile now while sitting
at the kitchen table
Reawakening
to the light.
I’ll mark on
the calendar,
the genesis of
the day’s discovery;
happiness and love
found once more.
Such is the magic
and beauty
of life.
As we wait for
the twilight,
night turns
to dawn …
hand in hand

Sooo, This is my tweak to Kate Little's rewrite of Twilight's Discovery.
There is a "Discovering Twilight 3" but it has to do with a decision on the last line...
I've asked enough of you so I won't go there.....yet. However we are looking for which one works best..sort of a vote...obviously no pressure but if you want to ..feel free. BTW Kate Little is from Australia and I'm from the U.S...amazing what people can do together when they put their mind to it. (reactions welcome)

I liked this the best...the start 'Love’s presence fades like twilight falling'....this one is really really good.
