Eye to eye

Trying to make amends

for those who have been so called friends

trying to settle and fit in

Show me who you want me to be

here I go again trying to please

what must I do to be rid of this disease?

We may not contain the same cells

but if there is one thing that I can tell

is we actually complement each other very well

Do not try to change my mind

I consider myself completely fine

we are not the same 

you and I

I hope one day we will see eye to eye

Your poem delivers a great message that everybody needs to know. It lets' people know that it's alright to be weird, and that there is no such thing as normal, because everybody is different. Great job of getting your thoughts on paper, Ally. If this is autobiographical, I commend you for trying so hard not to please your friends and others. Once you get beyond your "disease" :) you do a good job of telling whomever that you are not going to change for their sake, but you agree to be complementary. I truly enjoy your written exercise. I'm sure you have much to say. You will find your particular writing style and personality, of this I have no doubt. It's plain to see that you have a strong point of view. Sadly, Ally, too many people hurt themselves, in trying to please everyone, but themselves. I know this, from personal experience, as I hid myself, in the closet for more years, than I care to remember. Letting my mom think she could turn me, into a clone of dad, to do things around her house, after his death, in 1998. Just wasn't prepared for her reaction, to finding out, she had a trans-daughter, instead of, a biological son. Thank you, for sharing this poem, with us.

I love this poem, I have seen a lot of my friends change because they want to be with someone else
I think thats really dumb, seriously you should be who you are, if it makes you happy then be it anyways, life is about being happy and you're never going to be in peace with all of the people.
