Paranoia

Paranoia

A Poem by Tim Pearce
"

A poem I wrote a couple years ago about mind sickness and such.

"

The dawning chasm I descend
Opened solely by my surmise
Focused on that terrible end
Still the world hints not at Her demise

Indeed, it provides naught but bliss
The signs are right in front of me
Alas, if they are not missed
Soon forgotten they will be

Deeper into the dark shuffle my stubborn feet
Taking steps forward yet moving backward
Into primitive habits now obsolete
That serve only to forge that terrible Sword

Wilder I become
Of things I liked I am now scared
I look up at the Sun
And see what is not there:

An inferno!
With dangers rife
Though I know
It is the giver of life

But knowing is not sufficient
I must understand
And do so with efficience
To escape this cursed land

For it is a foolish thing, the human brain
A tendency to think itself unmistaken
And thus it does cause tremendous pain
From this misconception it shall awaken

From this hole I will be delivered
By dint of Love and perseverance
I will not cry, I will not quiver
I will ensure my clearance

Blown away! I love this! I love the way it looks into your psych and I think a piece of everyone's mind that no one really wants to talk about. How our own minds can refuse to listen to reason and lead us astray!
