Mirror, Mirror

Mirror, Mirror

A Poem by Alysha
"

Talks of beauty and how fickle it is.

"

Mirror, Mirror on the wall,

Smile bright and stand up tall.

Scrub and scrape your skin clean,

Brush your hair to a brilliant sheen.

Eyeliner and mascara,

Soon no one will be fairer.

Paint your natural face,

Red lipstick is your Ace.

But God forbid one tear fall

For now you’re as breakable as that;

Mirror, Mirror on the wall.

...
... simple words ... simple images ... but extremely profound and extremely potent ... the end is just fantastic ...

But God forbid one tear fall
For now you’re as breakable as that;
Mirror, Mirror on the wall.
