Creatures of the Night

Creatures of the Night

A Poem by Alysha
"

While writing Children of Nox I had an overabundance of inspiartional energy and this poem evolved from there.

"

I can see the creatures of the night;

I feel the sadness in their eyes.

Tears stream down my face, blurring my sight;

As I listen to their long mournful cries.

Children of the Night celebrate the Moon;

Dance within Her glorious beams.

Your time is coming soon;

Everything is not always as it seems.

Though lost to darkness, without the sunlight;

Your strength comes from a seductive embrace.

Accept this and revel in your silver-tinted might;

Walk in the greatest darkness, a saving grace.

You can tell through your writing that you are a big fan of the wolf. I like how you talk about them and their cries filling the nighttime skies. The mention of the "seductive embrace", refers to that of the moon and the you is the night I hope.

Good job.

this is cool... reading this, i'm definitely getting some pagan imagery here: dancing in the night, worshipping the moon (capitalizing 'Her' like it -- she -- is some sort of goddess is a nice touch)... i like the dark, wild spirit running through this poem, it's very mysterious.
