Ad-mortis XXVI

Ad-mortis XXVI

A Story by GypsyDanger

It is times like these that we realize how universally interchangeable our concept of time is. The present is shaped by the past, and the past, however much we claim it "finished", can creep back up from the pauper's grave we bury it in and become a cataclysm that crumbles the foundations of the future before the structure is even realized. As well as this, the very present we build our lives around is only in hopes that our future will reflect the wishes of today...
For an unrealized dream is an entity that feeds off regret, shame, and doubt. Once dead, it is often revived to assume a parasitic stance in our minds, whispering words of disdain to our subconscious and poisoning our present judgements. Mortality becomes apparant in the aeons that pass in our hearts, and an unrealized dream becomes... death.
