Rebirth

Rebirth

A Poem by Amitesh Rout

The wind was strong enough
And my thoughts wandered away
In the pile of the lurking darkness
Losing its way, void of directions
Shrugged shoulders and cold hands
Were damping my heart
A blink was all I could manage
Laying amidst the corpses of life
And with every breath I could feel
Mists of blood and bones as vapour
There was this shreiking storm
Rampaging through the wildlings
A force so powerful yet so tender
Grabbing by my neck roping me in
The warmth of elixir burnt through my soul
As if light chasing the dusk off to its mother
So When my eyelids flickered searched for answers
An angel was all I could see,
An angel full of love
And yet with a commix of rage...
Tears trickled down my bloody cheeks
To remind me of her promise... A promise to an unworthy prick.
