The Story of Jar

A Story by AmityHeart

This is a short story for entertainment. It reflects on the changes in life that people have gone through.

Jar fluttered open his eyes. He spoke of no language, of almost no memory- he only existed. Of the colors of human nature he does not know, for all he sees are murky shades of grey. Making his first blink since his two years of sleep, he rotated his neck and looked around the hospital room.

Abnormally, bouts of colors and faces came to his view. A constant pattern on the blinding white line glowed on the machine. It seemed familiar, like from a pleasant dream he experienced before, though without the overwhelming colors he never knew existed.

The language the surrounding figures spoke he knew nothing of, for he could only dream nightmares of the unknown creatures. However, it did give a warm spark on his back -comfort. He didn’t understand the confusing familiarity, but it was better than murky shadows chasing after him, who could do nothing but hold an Avengers action figure, the only object that seemed reminiscent from the lost past. All was calm and quiet-

Out of blues, one foreign figure pointed:

 “Look, Dr. Bark! He’s awake!”

Jar watched the figures come closer, closer, and closer. Eventually, they horrendously bent down with no hesitation or empathy of Jar’s anxiety. Foolishly, Jar did something known as the most amazing awful sound. He opened his mouth and screamed. Wonderful.
