Salvation!

Salvation!

A Poem by Arielle Ann
"

This is somewhat gross, just tried to explore what revenge might feel like. Would it be like sweet salvation from age long guilt and pain? Just a thought which struck my mind!

"

Hither lies the fiend, deep in slumber

chuckling away in lustful dreams it seems,

Bared are his teeth ,stained and soiled

while his tongue poised to strike lies coiled.

Emanating from those blackened lips

wasted through ages of nicotine and ash,

is the stinking stench of cheap alcohol

defying heavens’ purity in full control.

Yes those are the lips which had once kissed mine,

whispered tales of lust that had then seemed divine.

Yes those are the hands now greased in slime

filthy fingers that had once glided over mine

ravaged fair flesh, gratifying endless greed

tormented my soul for that lust to feed.

Yes those are the thighs shaggy and soiled

so often had they lain across me coiled

engulfing me in shameless glee

entrapped in a bond, powerless to flee.

Aah thy pungent stink is like venom in the air,

It lingers this autumn defying thy beautiful care.

Could I not just sink my nails through his throat?

Chortling out aloud as he would grovel and snort.

Licking with relish in the warmth of acrid blood

as he clatters on the earth with a gasp and a thud.

One shot and it would all end with the smoke

else I should flee , because then I would choke.

Oh the pleasure would be mine I swear,

Who says slaughter brings remorse with a tear?

Alas that’s not true for a lifeless corpse ,that’s me,

It’s the salvation I seek from thou till eternity!

A wonderful deliverance of pent up frustration and things are not as they seem!
Clever piece I think...the revenge not so much for the dealer of the harm but release for the sufferer! Nicely woven xox

thanks for stopping by poppy :)
Holy crap. This was so good and I really enjoyed it.

I loved how you described an undesirable quality and then reiterated that "yes, those were the lips that kissed mine". It just gives such an image of the changes and perspectives from then until now.

The imagery was so great, I really enjoyed this piece.

nice imagery, dark indeed, but the flow and rhyme scheme lead the reader on effortlessly...

Good work Anisha! This has layers of dark within.. Strange it might seem, but these layers act as a black hole.. they pull you deep into the poem with a stupendous force.... so you do get drawn into this fantastic piece....the tone of this poem also does justice to the centered theme... You can almost hear the mad cackle of this soul towards the end of the piece...Your rhyming style amazes me.. Everything perfectly in place.... Very well done :)

nice work Arielle...revenge can be a never ending repetition...although you have shown it as an individual emotion...nicely expressed though...

The poem is amazing. I had to read again. Great strength in the statements made the poem have life.

When pain is better then pleasure. We are in trouble. No weakness in the excellent poem.
