Las Estrellas

Las Estrellas

A Poem by Amy Black
"

One night I was sitting outside with my boyfriend looking up at the cloudy sky and I told him I wished I could believe in God. When I went back inside, I wrote this.

"

Las estrellas no eran en el cielo (There were no stars in the sky)

I suppose they were there, but hidden

behind clouds, blocked from view

Invisible and non-existent look the same.

Es el mismo con Dios (It's the same with God)

Maybe there is a god, hidden from

view, blocked from our understanding

high above us.

or maybe there's nothing, no one

there

at all.

I'm sick of guessing.

non-existent and invisible

look

exactly

the

same.
