bisque

bisque

A Poem by Tristessa

I'm beginning to personify your subtractions
and my roots are ash dry
the coma was spent within a coma
I'll encourage you...

to go through with it

he stumbles and swallows his tongue
his bedroom was a prison

I'm retaining all of your dreams
while mine are extinct
there's a familiar pain in everything
your words are never complete

my veins cross and my spine is stitched
you made love to this hollow matchstick
I'm not here to lift you up
to fill your cup
I've found pleasure in your complete emptiness

goodbye, this town is releasing me...
on good behavior
they asked me what should be done with you
I said, "just take him"

you'll thank me when you...
oh, once you decide to...

you're just an anchor anyway

I'll encourage you...
to go through with it
