A Witch's Brew

A Witch's Brew

A Chapter by Ana Papaya
"

For Halloween.

"
Ever wonder what you'd find in a witch's brew?
Does she cook little children in her witch's stew?

Oh yes, I can say that she surely does
and those wee little children make such a big fuss

In go the children, then they're poured in  a cup
and you'll oft hear her chanting as she spices things up.

"The sum of all parts, all parts but one.  Ready the feast now! The dinner bell's rung. Stale yellow vomit. Mmm, savour the taste. Seasoned with fear in a right putrid paste."

The sum of all parts now devoured and done
save for the eyes, the witch keeps from each one.

"I'll string them together like a merry festive garland, all those tiny little eyes with tiny tears fallen"

Ever wonder what you'll find in a witch's own brew
does she cook little children in a hearty witch's stew?

Oh yes I can say it's most certainly true,
that if you are a child stay away from her stew!

This is a delicious cup of kiddie korn! Yippee! You can craft a Halloween laugh like the best! I love your seemingly sweet & cheerful tone, as if we're just playing with the kiddies & having some fun. Love that juxtaposition between cheery tone & gory details! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thank you. :) I have a few of these. I'll have to remember to pull them out a bit closer to Hallow.. read more
Also remember, the witch grows tired of her nightly gruel,
and looks forward to what she considers her due.
Looking forward to a taste of something new.

Thank you for the wonderful poetic comment Jon!
:)
I've always loved the magical feel of Halloween, more than the frightening appeal of it. But this is just delightful in every way! I could just imagine the looks on the faces of children as this was read...the eyeballs would definitely be rolling!

Thanks very much Andrew!
Great advice shared in the poem. Add some art and you could create a amazing book to be read and looked at.
