Dead air

Dead air

A Chapter by Ana Papaya

There’s something in the air that I can’t touch
but I can feel it
like a sparrow can feel a tornado before it’s there
I can feel something coming
it's just hanging in the air

the subtle signs are everywhere
silence, thick
and heavy with despair

I can’t hang onto a love that never was mine
watching you fall for another
right before my eyes

but I had you on paper while you scribbled your lies
read the stories in your eyes
night after night

we’ve fallen apart while standing side by side
and now it’s almost time

what's going to hit first
the tornado or the good-bye

I can feel it's time

Perfectly summing up the L word here Ana, like walking into a room that suddenly silences and you see all eyes on you and know you are the only one who doesn't know, whilst your stomach decides to take up acrobatics again and goes from lurch to warp factor 12 in the blink of an eye.
I never have got used to that feeling.
Why did this love thing catch on again? I think I missed that seminar.

Thanks Lorry. :) Not sure how it caught on. I hear it's a good thing but sometimes I'm not so sur.. read more

This perfectly sums up a situation where everyone else is in on a secret except you. The air is electrically charged and you know you are standing on the edge of no return. Well done Ana.

Hi Chris, thank you.

Wish I could have expressed similar feelings as well as this.. I particularly like your opener = There’s something in the air that I can’t touch but I can feel it ... and = we’ve fallen apart while standing side by side.. nice one Ana :)

Thank you kindly, Neville :)
I really think we fall in love to experience the ecstasy of suffering.

Perhaps there's something to that. Thank you, Delmar!
