Glow

Glow

A Chapter by Ana Papaya

I could feel it coming

   outside shone a light

in my heart it was snowing

your face

 it needs no photographs
there's no escape

I can still see the beauty

of your delicate face

 framed

within the fire

one day I'll follow you
  into the arms of time
and count stars
  as they slowly fade

leaving nothing behind
  but a black sky
inviting me to glow

The light that passes through our life can feel so alive and vibrant in its presence, yet only remind us how cold our lives are with their darkening departure.
Will fate ever align and take us towards that warm, nourishing light again? We can but hope... Hope that fate stops thinking itself a cat and us our latest victim to toy with.

Very charming filled with beautiful expressions . This is when poetry speak for poetry self. Breath taking and skipped heart beat is probably best how I can comment on this well done my friend.

Thank you Martin. Your kind words are always very appreciated.
Ana, my thoughts here turned to losing a child and cremation. If that child was one that you bore, there is no way in a thousand years you would ever need a photograph to remind you. Their face will stay with you until your dying day. A very poignant piece. It resonated with me.

a sad comment on someone burning in a fire (maybe a dream?) and needing no photos for remembrance; because he/she can be remembered in one's mind's eye. Love follows to an unearthly embrace even to the stars. Lovely flow of words and thought.
