i could have stuck a pin in it
popped it
like a big red balloon on a string holding on to everything within

but it seemed more appropriate to just let it go
to float away
slowly deflate

and maybe be found again someday

You did indeed choose the more humane option Ana. Perhaps it will make its way back you, like the lotto ticket in my name is Earl, or at the very least find someone else.
I think people might think this is about something more than something that pops like a big red balloon, but I reckon I've cracked the code... It's a big yellow balloon you're writing of, isn't it? 😀

There is something so comforting in releasing a balloon and standing back to watch it's flight, not knowing where it will end up or how long it will take together. Release is something, we all need to do from time to time. Thank you Ana.

Hi Chris, thanks a bunch. :)
Your symbolism could stand for many possibilities & the one that popped to my mind -- when we need to walk away from someone, it's best (we learn later in life, I think) NOT to stab that person on the way out the door becuz ya never know when paths might cross again (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thanks :)
at first i thought of the movie, but the title fits...
some thoughts seem to be like balloons taken by the wind and disappearing...but perhaps
we will find that balloon again one day.
the thought might just reappear...fly back.

you are making me think of songs today...as I read you...
this one made me think of Nena's 99 Red Balloons...
maybe we have to let things go in order for them to come back to us on their own.

You are into writing about balloons it seems! There are times in life that we are smart to just "let go" and let our problems float off just as the balloon would. If it is meant to be, we may find that balloon at a later date. LydI**
