chasing a butterfly
   without a net

because beautiful things
    should never
be trapped

it doesn't work like that

dreams should be
   forever free

what we hold

of every flutter

Zactly! We all need space to spread our wings and flutter and flit free and revisit that innocence lost from childhood.
You be a butterfly and I'll stand in garden, arms out spinning like a helicopter. If we believe enough, we will take off 😀

I am thinking of the Song from “Sound of Music”... “How do you hold a Butterfly 🦋 in your hand?”. “Maria makes me laugh”. The Nuns were Wonderful and Mother Superior was
kind and gracious. Amen 🙏

Correction: "How do you hold a Moonbeam in your Hand". gently, Pat
Your brief but expressive poem reminds me of how I've looked at people with a "set" vision of how they want their life/goals to happen . . . & comparing it to how I've let life happen, my natural tendency. I couldn't plan things to save my life & even if I did, life has its own surprises! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

All good thanks, how are you
In the Arc of time every flutter is writ, I wish I could remember every one that was or will be. It's a beautiful sentiment Ana, as usual it was beautifully expressed by you.

Thank you, John :)
I like the philosophy of this one. Dreams should be forever free. Also liked the suggestion of our holding the memory of every flutter. The dream itself will never be caught and restrained.

Thank you kindly John :)
How lovely is this Ana. Those flutters are surely memorable. Only caught in the mind. Wonderful brevity.

I love a fluttering where prayers are carried on butterfly wings to clouds that float above the storms and perils to a presence that calms and nullifies... Amen
