Aridity

Aridity

A Poem by The Bard of Antioch
"

This was a just a description of my life a few weeks ago.

"

The core of me

Is an arid place,

A desert ground

That thirsts

For truth to rain

Down upon me.

I reside in this place,

No home,

Not an answer

Or an amount

Of stability.

I search

About,

Testing many

Waters,

Listening to the

Echoes of my

Surroundings.

I hear voice

After voice,

Words pouring

Over my ears,

But nothing

Holds.

I wander near

And far,

Searching the corners

Of existence for

One voice.

I pray for one voice

That will tell me

The truth,

Ultimately I conclude

I'm lost.

For does truth

Exist,

Or is all

Just matter

And opinion?

Oh the aridity of this place.

I like it. It does make me wonder if it all really is just a matter of opinion. Which really it probably is. No one can tell us how we think or feel or what to search for in life. I like that you used short lines. I like the flow of the poem. Thanks for sharing!
