The ordinary man

The boat was sailing. Boatman seemed worried. He looked at the people present. Doctors, writers, politicians, lawyers and even one ordinary man.

" Attention please. The boat is too heavy. It is going to sink unless one person jumps out and save all others."

Everyone looked at everyone else. Each one was important, can't jump out of boat, needed for good of the world.
Then every eye turned to the ordinary man....
"Me? No ways. I have just as much right to live as any of you. I am not jumping out of boat"

Lawyer looked at the doctor who looked at the writer. Their eyes planned
" Let's throw him out"

Politician smiled
"Wait....you want to be remembered as murderers? Let's me handle it"

He got up. Put his hand on his hips

" Whenever the country needs, whenever the world needs, we must be ready to serve. Hasn't God given us life to love and serve? Are we not Hunan? Are we born just to eat, live and die? Or do we mean to live a purposeful life. Answer me...put your hand on your heart and answer"

Everyone was listening to the speech. Well modulated, nice intonations...waving of hand, fiery words ...

" We will sacrifice everything but we will never let the boat of our country sink...can we now?" He asked, full of passionate fire...
"No, no...never"
Ordinary man stood up and jumped out.
Extraordinary ones sighed with relief...
Boat was safe.
