"I Still Do... Laugh..."

"I Still Do... Laugh..."

A Poem by Chris
"

thoughts

"

"I Still Do... Laugh..."

I still do ...laugh,

just not as often as I could.

Seem strange admitting that -

here

...now.

Do you remember the color -

no, the flavor, no again -

the ... feeling ...feel ...how it felt

- wanting to be held, being held,

being touched, touching...

Do you ...REMEMBER ...me...

Really, do you?

It isn't real, wasn't, couldn't,

shouldn't ...but, always a but,

you DID feel it

being touched...

fingertips... lips...

eyes looking into yours.

You felt my breath

- the goosebumps didn't lie,

couldn't     lie...

 did they?

...sigh

Things to do,

places to - BE

pick up the pace

hurry hurry

...but don't run,

don't run...

I felt you in the

air

the taste of you within

my eyes...

your scent lingering on

my fingertips, my conscious

thoughts turning and returning

til ...I've stopped

paused mid-step

utterly ...found.

I found your diary

here

on the sea wall

pages open and fluttering back and forth

in the breeze

and with each pause

more of you appears

and appears

...and appears.

...and I've discovered what wishing

really is

...and how missing...feels.

Strange how I don't KNOW

which

words

were

...yours...

now.

Much more than wistful. Much more than memory. Much more than heart breaking.

you have wow'd me with your writes for as long as I can remember, there have been many visual stimulations but nothing more strong than that fluttering seawall diary, that was ...like a projector in my head perfect. you are so amazing Chris, I felt every letter in this.
