"My Possibles' Bag..."

"My Possibles' Bag..."

A Poem by Chris
"

Sunday morning Farmers' Market day.

"

“My Possibles' Bag…”

Purpose-full and motion,

choice-by-chance -

life by the minutes

a scene-by-the-glance.

Farmers' market goodness...

sectioned moments of spice

in-seasoned …today.

Breads with “Thunk”, cheeses for hunks, Granola melodies,

bottled amber sparkles and translucent brown sap,

bouquets of sundrops and captured smiles,

jarred essence of fruits and life’s

oft’ wind-ruffled parodies - natures scents

and hints of “ah”,

pasta-by-whim - bagged by the belt size

into portions of seconds and leftover Wednesdays.

A space of just(?) variegated heats -

all by the tastes for choice …of course.

Fresh green everythings with lush, rain-bowed hues

chards to snap peas - life tested crunch-by-the-inch,

mid-life squash of firm, vibrant yellows - gold to near orange,

seemingly deep burgundy to ripened red sweetnesses

and garlicky bite - all food for thoughts and circumstance

- a “Big Soup” …perchance.

Tastes for a week’s tomorrows’ nights,

thoughts for today - wistful sighs

wish-full glances …a too hungry wallet.

Joyous... with a hint of wistfulness... describes a day at the market in full color and fragrance.
