"Midwinter's' Lullaby..."

"Midwinter's' Lullaby..."

A Poem by Chris
"

More wandering

"

I took cold coffee in hand and went to visit "friends".  Paused and wondered what each had seen, tasted.  Each visit was brief - some were even a revisit - seems some took a break. Some words flowed - they always do flow while I visit, its just I don't always let them - loose.

"Midwinter's' Lullaby..."

Do butterflies return? -

lightning strike twice? -

empty streets echo

with familiar

  advice?

Do window panes cry

each morning's due?

Will the emptiness inside

  ever leave you?

So soft are the eyes

- so lost and alone,

as they gaze through the glass

wishing for ...home.

Home... is an elusive place... more often than not found within....

Friendships change, people change. Seems that time changes everything. The question is, Do we fight it, or go with the flow? A touching piece.

An interesting mix, puppies and kittens a sort of yin and yang... it might of had something to do with the cold coffee... I like the combination of the two pieces. on letting words loose, I find conversation premature to the understanding between conversant's.... So many influences swirling about, like bats and witches on brooms, most would rather keep their heads ducked and covered than enjoy the frolic of pups and kitties.

Wow rhyme .. not the norm for you ! .. So much said, in such few words .. .. So many little ones, and fully grown .. just wishing, for home .. ..

Jazz ..
