The Delightful Trash

The Delightful Trash

A Poem by Andrea.
"

Who knew a simple trash can be a teacher? (my very first published poem :)

"
A fold to the left, then to the right
I made it perfect with all my might
For this paper boat, I gave my best
Did nothing more and nothing less

When this little boat is finally done
By the flowing river, I will come
There, I shall set the delightful trash free
Then watch it with pain and with glee

But why, right now, the boat I can't see?
Did he forget and intend to leave me?
Now he's by the oceans, alone yet free
Past the river and past the sea

I hope he'll be happy to face his new journey
But I know there's a time he has to sink
For it was just a boat made of paper
I formed with a dream that would last forever

It was just as hard to let one leave
Someone you loved from the very start
This paper boat, I made to set free
To teach my lost and lonely heart
