Kitchen people

Kitchen people

A Poem by Jack Baird

Who brought you?
Those two
In the kitchen?
Me too!

Come on through
This room?
Now we're talking
Sounds good!

Guests hurry
Windswept
Here to wonder
What's new?

In my home town of Belfast, home life revolves around the kitchen as it does in many other places. (some houses had a parlour which was very rarely used and was always spic and span).
This reminded me of my friends house though - it was always packed with people and was a hive and a hub of activity.
Nice one JB.
