No more, no less

No more, no less

A Poem by John
"

Thought I'd see what kind of comments I could get from this.

"

Is it sick?

The cost of survival

in a society absent

of conscience

and/or serenity

is no more

and no less than

an abandonment

of self.

Is it wrong?

The price of success

in a world bound by

morals wrought of

counterfeit doctrine

and antiquated falsities

is no more

and no less than

an auction of

a lost soul.

Is it true?

The fare to board

the train manned

by contemporaries

of roguish demeanor

is not only

imposed upon

the cherubs of

Europa and Oceania,

but also no more

and no less than

the only means

of voyage to that

Shining City on a Hill?

I really love the format of this piece. Every line is pieced together so beautifully, allowing it to work together extremely well.
