Desperation

I once read

a story by 

my favorite writer,

a king of words,

then realized that he,

too,

had felt the feelings that

have come to rule

this pitiful excuse

of a life...

and then,

to my astonishment,

I realized another thing,

that rhymes and reason

are both meaningless,

and only words can fill

that empty gap

that has seemed to envelope

that empty cause that was/is

my life.
