Lay that ghost to rest (Lyrics)

A Poem by Andy Crawford

Lyrics for the track "Lay that ghost to rest" by Alternative Rock band Turn off the Sun, in which I write, sing and play Bass.

"

Lay that ghost to rest

I was tied to a train line

The first time she told me to

Lay that ghost to rest, lay that ghost to rest

I traded black lungs for white lies

The day I told her I had

Laid that ghost to rest, laid that ghost to rest

We swapped Insults for fistfights

And she convinced me I should

Lay that ghost to rest, lay that ghost to rest

I burned photos and fingerprints

But can’t delete my bloodline

To lay that ghost to rest, lay that ghost to rest

Lay waste to your past

Take thorns from your side

Move on and go sow your oats son

Stop counting your days

Take life in your hands

Move on and go sow your oats

I was knee-deep and tongue-tied

By the time she told me to

Lay that ghost to rest, lay that ghost to rest

I went outside and dug holes

To bury all my doubts and

Lay that ghost to rest, lay that ghost to rest

Lay waste to your past

Take thorns from your side

Move on and go sow your oats son

Stop counting your days

Take life in your hands

Move on and go sow your oats

I found myself tonight

Dancing to the beat of a strobe light

My feet don’t touch the ground

As the beat assembly jumps and the music pounds
