Emma

Emma

A Poem by Ang
"

She died instantly as the car crashed into the tree. She was driving drunk, which made it all so confusing at the time. Sorrow mixed with anger. Only 20 years old, with so much more love left to give.

"

My dreams are always the same.

Failing breaks, and then silence.

Five years of doubtful tears,

and I still chase you every night.

Last night, something changed.

My dreams took me to you, in that dreadful place.

This time, you stopped.

I begged you to skip that second drink,

To give me the keys and try to think

Full of life, you never listened.

My sweet Emma, how I miss you.

The crash you caused was the end.

Of our normality, of our childhood, of your life.

You stayed with us for a whisper,

but gave us memories for a lifetime.

Forever missed.

Never Forgotten.

Author's Note

Ang
This sort of isn't a poem, and it sort of is. It's mostly a letter to the far beyond, from my heart to hers.

Sumptuous imagery, and delicate descriptions is definitely going to get there at the speed of thought.
