Wait

Wait

A Poem by AngelAfterlife

Sitting in this
empty house i wait.
I wait for your call or
for your knock at the door.
I wait for your open arms
and for your lips on mine.

Three days I wait
in this empty house.
I wait for your call
or your knock on the door.
I wait for your open arms
and for your lips on mine.

One week i wait in
this empty house.
I wait and realize
you won't call or knock
I wait and realize your arms aren't going
to catch me, and your lips aren't going to sooth me.

One year I finally
left the empty house.
I finally stopped
waiting for you.
I finally gave
up on you.
I finally realized your love was just
a figment of my imagination.
