Strobe Lights. Dance Floor.

Strobe Lights. Dance Floor.

A Poem by ABitBrokenPoetry

Intimate
Shadows swallowing us
Swirling lights momentarily catching you
Lighting you up like a neon sign
Your hair blue, then purple, then green
Eye lashes in profile now pink
Always searching for glimpses into your eyes
Dark and glittery that night
And your smile, white as a sliver of moonlight
You were a magnet
Pulling me close… close enough to feel your warmth
Close enough to breathe you in
Close enough for our lips to barely touch
Before pushing away again
Drowning in the sea of people
Then falling back into your arms
Everything before and after that
Could never be as breathtakingly beautiful
As that one moment with you

I feel your pull even now
But ignore it
It was so hard to detach from you.

Very descriptive work here. Puts you right in the middle of the action. Sadly, it seems to have been just for a moment. Be patient. Your time will come.
