A light

A light

A Poem by Anne Davidson-Lamb
"

A religious poem

"
If you open your eyes,
You would see.
That there is a light,
That glows just
Outside your window.
A light filled with power.

It teaches you to say please,
And to say thank you.
It shows you not to steal,
Not to lie, and not to cheat.

You should never expected a free ride.
Cause nothing in life is truly free.
You should never hold a grudge,
Or have a chip upon your shoulder.
Please listen cause I'm going to tell you why.
The bitterness can hold you down,
It can prevent you from flying.
It can even make you feel like dying.

That isn't all God says you should
Know the difference from sleeping with someone,
And sleeping with the one you truly love.
He says save yourself for that special one.
Cause I love you isn't a line used to pick one up.
It's meant to only be used when it's truly meant.

Don't take for granted the blessings of life.
And when you reach where your going,
You should always turn to the next in line,
Show them what you learned.
And be kind remember to help them out.
For its the way of God.
