Moving Mountains

Moving Mountains

A Poem by Jennifer
"

Between me and someone who is still a big part of my life, we're just keeping our distance for it would happen again.

"

You push my hair back,

Running your hands across my neck

I bite my bottom lip

You laugh

“Jennifer” you whisper

And it only excites me more

Just knowing it’s risk

Makes me bark out orders

You looked shocked

At the thought of something like that

Escaping my lips

But you quickly oblige

It’s wrong, I know

But you know it too

Yet it doesn’t stop us

From doing the unspeakable

You lift yourself from the bed

And the guilt washes back over me

Your smile hides what your soul longs to say

So I’ll say it for you

I’ll love you till the day I die,

Just never in the way you want.

I’ve got her,

But I need you

And I’ll need you forever

And I’ll love you forever

But it can never be what you want.
