split in two
crushed and cracked
torn and smashed?
Till they harden?
Grow cold
till they feel no more
and never forgive
till they're bitter and weary
tired of the fight?
Can they heal?
can they be bandaged
or patched
glued or sown
their hearts pieced together again
yet never fully well.
