Ride

Ride

A Poem by Thisismythearpy
"

Just a little poem about mental illness and whatnot.

"
Some talk about riding through a desert on a horse with no name,
What about riding through life on an un-healthy brain?

When everyone questions your sanity
There's not much you can be

Every small task is a struggle
Every attempt at something is a muddle

Two steps forward, three steps back
Now there's another anxiety attack

People will stop and stare
But none of them are actually there

Live a life in solitude
you have nothing else to do

Wake up in the middle of the night screaming
There's no way to stop dreaming

The dreams are good, but the loss of the people in them is what's bad
Oh how it can make someone sad

When you wake up you feel fine
Then the rays of reality begin to shine

They sine on what was lost, so take a moment to pause
Accept what's gone is gone

I am not a real writer. This is just stuff from a notebook I kept when I ran away from a lot of stuff and took off across the state jumping from state park to state park. I'm basically illiterate and have no Idea what I'm doing.

This is the best thing I have ever read. The way you talked about mental illness is so real. It really captures how it is.
