Mental walls and intrusive thoughts

Mental walls and intrusive thoughts

A Poem by Thisismythearpy
"

About putting up and accidentally knocking down mental walls, and also intrusive thoughts.

"
When your mental walls fall
They fall hard

Anything that was once a whisper
Turns into a roar

Repressed memories
Of things you have seen
Or things that couldn’t be

Suddenly forcing themselves into your conscious mind
They give absolutely no warning
Before they sneak up from behind

Going in for the kill
Of any good emotions you feel

Intruders in the form of intrusive thoughts

Flashbacks
Panic attacks

It’s all in the mind

Or is it?

I particularly love both how you began and how you finished this, they both flow very well and really give the piece a beautiful poetic structure.
