Hide the sadness

Another crummy thing about depression.

Being sad most of the time

Others can’t see it

We try our best to keep the sad inside

It is getting harder and harder to hide

All our feelings 

From all  the other human beings

We have to interact with 

Sadness in our eyes

Reflected in our facial expressions and body posture

S**t so many of us are so sad

Depression sure is teaching us a lesson 

Of how hard it is to overcome our problems

Uphill battle both ways

Fighting every single day

Showing no change 

Most of the time

We try to change the feelings inside 

Through so many coping mechanisms and medications 

Oppressed by the nations

That are our brains 

We have to break our chains
