Fragments

Fragments

A Poem by Meghan Justine

We began in a haze, too quick to taste, touch, speak
But all was broken too-twist, break me weak
Torn with hate and passion too soon to live and let love
All of it broken in one fast painful shove
Parted but not apart they fled
Fragmented heart, barely bled starvingly fed
Am I broken or am I whole
I forgot the life I once lived intact flesh and soul
Intertwined with the remnants of light,
Not quite out of mind when out of sight
Am I stuck between what was us and what was lust
Truth is almost impossible to recognize hidden between love lies dust
You are always here, never there.
If not yours, can my heart you spare
Find yourself and love dies peacefully
No not for us is it achieved that easily
How to I let the love that thrives me know
We cannot grow without letting go
Connected in their own reprise of demise
How do I live? How do I thrive?
Will you disappear in one final guise
So in the end all of us dies
