Fake Smiles

Fake Smiles

A Poem by ~Anita Sandlin~

Sadness you hide inside is not
hidden from me, even when you
don't want anyone to see.
A smile and true happiness is
what you need; when you find
it, you will be freed.
The more you smile, the more
easily it will come to your lips.
Before you know it, that fake
smile will be as real as your
heart.
Smiling fake smiles only makes
your heart turn dark and grey;
Please listen to what I say,
cause I have been where you
are and I almost threw my
life away. I don't want the same
for you, but I can see that it's
true, you're always blue.
