ReassuranceA Poem by AnnI take care of Myself, first.
People assumes you are fine,
But how long can you put the same facade each day, As you walked by the same place, Thinking this day will be different than any other day, Fighting the clouds that slowly engulfing your being, As the unsaid words inside the mind keeps getting stronger, You want to scream but the words are stuck, Like someone is holding back the voice, Alas, you try to reach out, Hoping & hoping someone is there for you, You struggle as everything is slowly fading to black, Even though, it hurts you still try to break free, Screaming in agony, You yell to anybody, Too tired to beg, You can't help but laugh the irony, You promised that this day will be different, Yet, nothing changed, Thinking it's better to give up, And surrender to the dark whispers, Nonetheless, you don't want to give in, Refusing to be in this pitiful state, So, you fight through the clouds, Everything hurts and you beg for it to stop, It feels forever as the whisper is toying your mind, Not even a tear can be seen, Only traces can be found, Finally, a smile crack up to your messed up face, You laughed as you look behind, Seeing the messed you made, You can't help but wonder, Wondering if all of this is worth it? Rather than dawdling, You get up & look above, For a second, the world seems full of color rather than your monochrome days, You can't help but crack a smile, As you walk away from the clouds, As you walk away from the whispers, As you walk away from the pain, Deep down you realized, It might be harder but you don't fret, As you found a glimpse of your worth, Now, you just have to find all the pieces, As you are worth finding, Worth of every love that exists in this world, Nothing, can take that away from you, As you Yourself are Strong!
