Dopamine

Dopamine

A Poem by Annelise

You are the master of words

words that you have told to

a thousand other girls.

Oh, but I was the lucky one that fell for it.

You taste like cigarettes and coffee

no matter how many times you brush

your teeth, still I smoke to remember your taste.

You were that rush of dopamine

and now that I can breath on my own

the burn is more acute.

I can see your hipocrasy in our

everyday conversation:

"Just because you get me more

than most people do shouldn't mean

that I have to have feelings for you."

"I have feelings for you

I just don't love you."

Stop talking! you've gotten me too confused.

I can spot your lies and I despise you for them

but I still remember the way you bit my lip

bruised and told me you loved me

after you came home from kissing her.

 Yeah, we're still friends

and you still say we're "on a break"

but if we are, then why can't you tell

me the difference beween a break and breaking up?

The man you are talking about sounds like me! Well, the way i used to be, but then i grew up, but yeah, that was me!

"Stop talking! you've gotten me too confused." This was good!

This poem brought back so many memories.

I can feel your emotion pounding through this. It's unnerving, but in a good way, if you know what I mean.
You have a couple of typos: "poele", I'm assuming, should be "people" and "dopamin" should be "dopamine"

There's all kinds of emotions going through this one. That comes of clearly. I'd like more visuals though. I think it'd help. You put in some really great ones, like the stuff in the third stanza. I'd work on keeping that sort of visual all of the way throughout. I think it'd strengthen the poem quite a bit.
