Behind my eyes

Behind my eyes

A Poem by Annie Lane
"

I've always been to shy to post my poetry, so here's one.

"

It’s funny when he asks me what that look was,

And wonders what goes through my mind as I smirk at him.

Oh and darling, if any words could explain

You better know I would tell you in a whim.

If I could tell you that just your smile

Is way more than my heart can handle.

If I could tell you your eyes tell

The sweetest and darkest tale.

If I could tell you that your laugh

Is better than any song I could sing…

And your words are such a mystery to me.

So what am I thinking?

Darling, I’m thinking of all things

And every mystery this eternally small

Universe holds.

That’s what I’m thinking.
