Brittle Resilience

Brittle Resilience

A Poem by Anningley

The world awakens
To a wintry surprise.
The roads are a mirror,
The grass is white.
The modern man returns to bed.
But for the one girl,
Whose world will not be silenced,
Takes the snow as a gift.
It quiets the world around her,
Wraps it in a blanket.
So she wanders.
She is good at wandering.
