A Poem by Anningley
"

Spanning distances is a thing of the past.

"

Our distance was what was always

Keeping us apart.

He traveled the distance with a new girl.

He didn’t stop to say hello.

Why did it bother me?

Was it the girl,

Or the fact that he didn’t stop?

It’s neither.

It was our distance.

Our distance to span.

And now he traveled it like it was nothing.

So maybe we have a new distance to span.

One that is impossible to do so.
