Glass Figure

Glass Figure

A Poem by Annie

All my life I've been protected.

All my life I've had these glass walls.

Treated like a glass statue.

Shattered at

any time...

any place...

Then you came along.

You broke the walls.

You set me free.

Shattered the glass statue

that had once been me.

Marred my innocense,

set me free.

Destroyed the image

that had once defined me.

Broken once

but never again...

Held my breath

counted to ten.

The beating over,

the bruises healed.

The pain you've caused

now officially sealed.

The glass figure broken.

The walls collapsed...

and all that's left is

a few shards of glass.
