Blinded

Blinded

A Poem by Miss J

she sits up all hours absorbing this screen
it's more tiring to talk in person
she tells me she's fine and she believes it most days
not born a fool, she was made one

it's partly her fault but it's mostly all theirs
she wields blame like assassins wield weapons

I am stuck in between her mind and her mouth
trapped in the interim of time and the right place
she didn't buy me, she's likely to say
but too much and too often she's sold me out

how dull are her eyes when she looks back at me
how bright is her smile when she thinks I can't see
