4:30 Am

4:30 Am

A Poem by Kory

He Sits In The Lampshade As The 4:30 Am Hour Feels No Less Tiring

Watching His Ipod Wire Dangle Below Him

As Kurt Kobain Whispers Songs In His Ears

Staring At The Bright Screen, He Wonders When The World Will Awake

As The Division Bell Takes Him To A Peaceful Wonder

Staring At The Paint Stained Floor, As The Minutes Pass Him By

Falling Backward's On The Couch, He Stares At The Red Ceiling In Dismay

Thinking To Himself, Who Am I? When Will I Be Defined? Where Will It Happen?

Sitting Up, Staring At The Blank Paged Open Book Below Him

He Holds His Pen, Frozen In Thoughts

Writing When He Can, He Places His Soul On The Paper

Adding The Finishing Touches, Closing The Book For Another Night

He Then Retreats To The Piano, Where He Plays The Silent Tune

Only To Respond To It, With A Calm Guitar Solo At 5:15 Am

He Then Turn's Out The Lights, Retreating To His Mattress

Dreaming About The Next Day, Peacefully...
