The Challengers Final Mission

The Challengers Final Mission

A Poem by Gage Robert Moore
"

This was freestyle song lyrics I wrote while listening to an original instrumental wrote by my best friend and lead guitarist from my old band.

"
VERSE
There it goes and i am helpless again.
So much has changed, besides my death.
Why must this pain chase stars across my sky?
Like comet trails and quasars
Burning out my eyes...

~CHORUS~
Fresh scars brand my skin
Spirit cleansed of all it's sin
Redemption is the ideal end
But it was never my destiny,
To see a happy ending.

VERSE
So there ya go, yeah
Watch, take notes
Prod and poke
Find out what all I know
But don't get too attached, too close
Don't worry bout a thing
I'll be just fine...
So dissect me break me down just right
Every detail under white light
Then dispose of me properly in the name of science.

~CHORUS~ repeat x2

VERSE
No not this time
My heart is black and dry
This pyre has consumed the mind
Destroyed the soul
All hope was extinguished long ago
So with my final breath I plead
After all this pain and suffering
In my end don't forsake me
Your son is broken down, bleeding
Past the point of asking why
Please allow me to feel your light

BRIDGE/FINAL VERSE
As I ascend
The torment falls away
Into the night
Weight lifts more,
The more I rise...
I knew before even took flight
That everything would be alright...
