INEXPLICITUS

A Poem by Anuolua

You know that your mind has given way
when delightful nothings cease to sway
a nudge will certainly do
to send you o'er the cliff
and make you lose your cool
so said the deer with a sniff
talking to an hare with a leaf
when by the riverside they drank
where all went without rank
giving advice free and frank
"listen" said the deer
mayhap the blame lies not with that which gave the nudge
without which there would have been no budge
Oh no,the blame or praise, as you please
lies in that which led you up the cliff
in a daze and trance
till faith told passing chance to give the nudge
and his feet doth heavily tread
that from trance we dislodge
and we cry O! It was he
