The Unknown.

The Unknown.

A Poem by Anushka Bright

The night was calm,
Yet everything seemed deadly and dark.
As I walked in silence,
I felt someone's gaze
I paused to look back
And there he was -
His blood shot eyes-thirsty for revenge.
My heart beat fast,
His presence raised chills in my body.
I could feel his warm breath,
The smell of death made me retrace my steps.
Fear overtook me.
He smiled as he took out something-
Its gleam caught my eye,
It shone like a diamond in the moonlight.
He was supposed to be my knight in shining armour.
But what was he now ?
All of a sudden,
He took my hand and held me close-
And I could feel it pierce.
Everything seemed to still.
My blood froze.
Death beckoned me safe,in its sweet embrace.
But all I could do was cling to my fleeting breath....
